Macro Monday: 1969 Rolex Explorer Vintage Ref. 1016
This beautiful macro by Atom Moore is of the 1969 Rolex Explorer. Known for its matte dial and being the perfect size at 36mm with 20mm lug width, the Explorer’s wear-ability is off the charts. This piece of course uses the known Rolex 904L stainless steel quality versus the 316L many other watchmakers use. All Rolex watches are pressure tested before leaving the plant, a standard of quality that speaks to why it is currently the largest watch company. This is even more impressive when you consider Rolex creates an average of 2,000 pieces a day. Why does that matter? It all means the wear-ability comes with durability and the lasting quality exemplified on the painted three.
