Macro Monday: Rolex Milgauss Vintage Ref. 1019
This week we have an Atom Moore macro of the Rolex Milgauss ref. 1019. Although the original Milgauss ref. 6541 debuted in 1956, the more notable Milgauss ref. 1019 debuted in 1960 and continued its run through 1988. The name itself is a representation of one of its more well-known features. Mille is the French word for one thousand and Gauss is a unit of measurement for magnetic flux density. This meant that scientist finally had a Rolex they could wear while they worked and even the lume was optional to ensure it was safe for work with nuclear radiation and other delicately balanced components. Here, you can even see this is an earlier model due to its 1/5 second tick markers.
